Cecil Higgins Art Gallery will be closed from Monday 18 June 2007 as the first phase of refurbishment of the
gallery and museum complex begins. It is due to re-open in 2009. The Bedford Museum remains open as usual.

Blake to Sutherland: The Romantic Tradition

Drawn from the extensive collection of watercolours, this exhibition will highlight some of the best-loved paintings owned by the Gallery. It will feature many great artists including Samuel Palmer, JMW Turner, Gabriel Rossetti, Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones, William Blake and Graham Sutherland amongst others and will trace the rich seam of the Romantic tradition in over 200 years of European art.
