Auguste Rodin 1840-1917

Rodin was born and spent most of his life in Paris. He is now considerd the greatest European Sculptor of the late 19^th and early 20th century though he did not obtain full recognition until he was about 60. He was creator of a new form of sculpture, the fragment as a finished work.
