With some alterations this was lithographed as plate IX in Boys’ Picturesque Architecture in Paris, Ghent, Antwerp and Rouen, 1839, with twenty-six superb colour-plates. A writer in the Quarterly Review expressed surprise that ‘26 prints, equal in effect to watercolour paintings, could be bought for so small a sum as eight guineas’.
