Thomas Lester Lace

One of Thomas Lester's most impressive pieces is this cuff depicting a pair of eagles. The two layers of cloth stitch forming the wings are both veined and gimped in the same way to give depth. The upper is stab-stitched around three sides leaving the leading edge of the wing open for possible stuffing.
