Clocks

Oak and brass clock designed by Charles F.A. Voysey (1857-1941), c.1905-06.  Height 68.6 cm, depth 20.3 cm, width 33 cm.

Voysey designed this clock for the offices of the Essex and Suffolk Insurance Co. in London, together with two chairs also in the collection.

All three pieces are representative of Voysey's hatred of ostentatious designs. The use of oak is typical, as are the simple yet pleasing shapes that suggest a Quaker moderation.
