| Satinwood card table,
c.1790. Height 74.9 cm, depth 97.1 cm. This card table is semi-elliptical in shape and has a fold-over top strung with ebony and banded with ringwood. It is painted with neo-classical motifs including bay sprigs and trophies. The frieze running round the sides above the square tapered legs is in the style of the George III period. |
