Double-sided writing table of satinwood and satin-sycamore, c. 1790. Height 83.1cm, length 54.6 cm, depth 45.3 cm. This George III writing table has sloping twin-hinge lids which are decorated with bead festoons and oval monogrammed panels within star and bead banded borders. The panels are inscribed with the letter 'L'. The lids can be locked. There is a writing ledge which slides out. The legs are tapered and connected by an x-stretcher. |
