| Sleeves once more became close fitting and skirts were gored, making them close fitting around hips and flaring out at the hem. This had the effect to throw the emphasis onto the bust which was presented as a solid shelf, and the corset was designed to enhance and s-bend figure, with shoulders well back, chest forward and back bent at the base of the spine to make hips stick out at rear. |
