Day dress

Aubergine silk two piece with self coloured satin panels. This dress has a cuirass bodice, long waisted and close fitting onto the hips. The bustle has become much lower to achieve a sloping effect at the back of the skirt. The ‘waterfall effect’ of fabric tied underneath the skirt and a bow at the centre back. This dress also has an apron fronted over skirt of swathed fabric typical of the period.
