Swept away by floods in 1936, the wooden structure seen above was replaced with a concrete bridge which heralded the development of Newnham Avenue. The old bridge had provided a tranquil scene, popular with local artists, and now marks the end of the embankment and the beginning of the Aspects Leisure Park.
