An exciting
new acquisition for the Art Gallery is a thirty-piece tile panel by
designer William Burges. The panel, dated circa 1880, consists of twelve
signs of the zodiac with eighteen border tiles. The tiles are a version
of those in the drawing room of Castell Coch in Cardiff and they will
be incorporated into the proposed new Burges Gallery at the Cecil Higgins. The
acquisition was made possible by generous grants from The Art Fund and
the MLA/V&A Purchase Grant Fund. Please
